Welcome to my portfolio which aims to share with you a sample of my creative projects accomplished over the past 10 years.
I first started my creative journey as a wedding and events photographer back in 2010 where I held onto my first camera. Back then I was working as a finance executive, while helping my friends capture their wedding day highlights as a hobbyist on the side. As same-day-edit wedding highlights videos started growing in popularity, I was moved by the stories that videos can tell and I wanted to be a part of it. I decided to take that bold leap of faith and pursue videography as a full-time career in a production house in 2012.
I joined Alvinadeline & Co. where I quickly learnt the ropes of filming and editing wedding videos for both short form highlights and long form documentary wedding videos. Thereafter I began filming weddings as the main videographer where I took charge of its entire production. Apart from actual wedding day videos, I was also tasked to conceptualise and produce couples' love stories. These projects gave me the experience of lighting a scene as a gaffer, capturing the audio as a soundman and artistic director as the couple is re-enacting their stories in addition to the camera operation and post production that I am constantly involved in. Apart from wedding films, I also handled corporate projects to showcase and promote companies' brands, events and seminars. These videos range from short form stock footage for news broadcast to social media marketing videos and to long form narratives.
With the advent of live streaming video solutions in 2017, I was involved in the production of multiple live streaming projects where I played the role as a show producer to a camera operator to a sound engineer and switcher with NewTek and Datavideo equipment.
I am able to visualise, plan and execute visions clearly and effectively while on-set with key stakeholders, talent and crew; while managing various production aspects such as audio and lighting. This ensures the assets captured are of the highest quality. Having worked with multiple parties over the course of my career, I understand the challenges and role that each party plays in the production process. This gives me an edge in managing the production as a producer.
As my passion lies in the creative field, I am in touch with the latest digital/social media trends especially when the media landscape changes ever so rapidly. Being independent and resourceful, I am able to work closely with the client to understand the needs in their respective industries and help identify new trends to help them achieve their business goals. Besides producing video content, I also conduct videography classes and photo walks for the photography community.
Since February 2021, I have left my full time role of over 8 years in the production house due to the impact of Covid-19 and thereafter I worked with multiple agencies and production houses on a freelance basis. The videos shown on this site that were shot before February 2021 are mostly produced in the company that I was at.
